For the BLAST Trail, take a walk from the centre of Shirebrook through the shops and along Sookholme Road, you'll then be met with a sign for the Archaeological Way. Follow that sign and up along the path. You'll then be met with a beautiful open area with tall trees and bodies of water. Perfect for a walk any time of day in any season.

We worked with 8 youth ambassadors from BLAST (Building Lives Around Shirebrook Town). The youth ambassadors are completing a community leadership qualification and have previously organised community events such as a Halloween Trail in 2024.

The group brought all of their creative & leadership skills with them to the sessions. From the discussions at the beginning of the project, to sharing and gathering community stories, and then creating the artwork, we can’t thank them enough for the effort they put in throughout the project. We’d also like to say thank you to the wider BLAST community for their involvement.
