Coming up for Six Pillars

Six Pillars Wellbeing Coordinator, Nathan, tells us what's new for the project this spring.

Looking into the next term we have some exciting plans for delivery. We will be working with some of the young people’s favourite artists!

In Stubbin Wood and Bolsover, Abbie Canning will be diving into the world of digital art and merging this reality with augmented and virtual realities to bring to life the ideas of the participants.

Then in Clowne, we will be working with filmmaker, Adam Robertson, to produce some stop-motion animations. The young people will have full creative freedom to choose a theme and a story. We’ll make sure to share their outcomes so you can see the magic of when a young person’s creative spark is kindled by support from an industry expert.

Lastly in Dronfield, we are running a series of taster sessions with four different artists: First, they will have a chance to turn their hand to printmaking with eminent artist Dave Elsom (@sombrero_printmaking) where we will be making some postcards ready for the Chesterfield Postcard Show. We’ll also be working with the self-proclaimed ‘Fairy art mother’ Lucie Maycock to produce some vibrant visual art and turn trash into treasure with Michelle Reader, creating sculptures out of recycled materials.

We’re very excited about what this next term of delivery has to bring. Make sure you’re following us on social media to see and show appreciation for what the young people produce.
