Arty Ladies
The Arty Ladies is a Creswell based project working with a group of 17 women, and one man! The group meet fortnightly, on Friday mornings at the Creswell Event Centre to take part in arts and craft activities.
This project differs from many because most of the workshops are delivered by group members who want to share their skills with others. The diversity of the workshops is amazing and so far they’ve made rag wreaths, fragrant bath bombs, Christmas felt figures and have learnt glass painting, Indian block printing and pergamano. One exception to the self-led sessions was a charcoal portrait workshop with artist and Junction Arts volunteer, John King.
The project is not only an opportunity to learn new skills and produce something beautiful, it also helps build a stronger community and valuable support networks.
The project is funded by a Healthy Bolsover grant and will run until May 2022.
