Help Capture 50 Years of Junction Arts
As part of the 50 Stories for 50 Years celebrations, Junction Arts is inviting members of our community to help document the project as it unfolds throughout the year.
We’re looking for enthusiastic participants to capture short moments on film during Junction Arts events, from festivals and creative activities to behind-the-scenes experiences.
These clips will help build a community-powered documentary celebrating 50 years of creativity, produced by filmmaker Matthew Pritchard and Defeye Creative.
No Filmmaking Experience Needed
You don’t need to be a filmmaker to take part.
If you have a smartphone and enjoy being part of Junction Arts activities, we’ll show you everything you need to know.
We’re looking for people who want to capture:
- the atmosphere of events
- creative activities in action
- conversations and reactions
- their own experience of taking part
Free 1-Hour Filmmaking Workshop
Anyone interested will be invited to a relaxed 1-hour workshop where you’ll learn:
- simple techniques for filming with your phone
- how to capture great sound and images
- ideas for filming creative moments
- how to share your footage with the project team
The aim is to make filming easy, fun, and accessible for everyone.
What Happens Next?
After the workshop, you can capture short clips during Junction Arts events you attend as part of the 50 Stories project.
These moments will become part of the documentary celebrating the organisation’s 50th anniversary.
Be Part of the Story
All contributors will be credited in the final film, which will premiere as part of Junction Arts’ anniversary celebrations.
Your footage will help create a living archive of creativity and community.

This opportunity is open to people aged 16 and over who live in Chesterfield, Bolsover District or North East Derbyshire.
