In 2018 we will be celebrating the 25th Anniversary of the Bolsover Lantern Parade and we need your help!
Back in 1994, when the Lantern Parade began, no-one could have predicted how hugely successful the event would become. What started off as a small town celebration to welcome the winter season, is now a spectacular annually returning event that attracts hundreds of people every year.
The Lantern Parade is a town tradition that brings the community together. Our Lantern making workshops that lead up to the event, attract hundreds of members of the public who are keen and eager to create a Lantern. The workshop is a fantastic chance for all abilities and ages to work closely with the Junction Arts team and artists to make their lantern ideas come to life!
Why do we need to fundraise for this event?
Each year the Bolsover Lantern Parade costs thousands of pounds. Money that is raised by Co-op members will be used towards making the 25th Bolsover Lantern Parade possible.
We have to cover costs such as:
-Materials for community workshops
-Venue hire for community workshops
-Artist Fee’s
-School workshop materials
-Parade Security
-Road closures

How can you help?
Every time members shop at the Co-op, 1% of what is spent on selected own-brand products and services goes to the Co-op Local Community Fund.
Members of the Co-op can now choose to select the Bolsover Lantern Parade 2018 – 25th Anniversary as their cause to support.
If you are a member already, you can simply phone up your local store or sign in to your Co-op membership account to select your cause. To become a member is easy, just use this link and follow the simple steps.
