Do You Need a Charity of the Year?

For businesses, choosing a Charity of the Year is more than just an opportunity to give back—it’s a chance to build meaningful connections, engage employees, and make a real difference. Partnering with a small charity like Junction Arts, a community-focused arts charity, offers benefits that go beyond financial donations, creating lasting value for both your company and the community.

In 2023, Andy Fuller, owner of Bolsover-based APlus Medical Training and Services selected Junction Arts as their Charity of the Year. This was a first for Junction Arts, making it an exciting milestone for the organization.

Andy shared the news with enthusiasm:

“We want to start 2023 off with a bang and announce that our Charity of the Year for 2023 will be Junction Arts. It’s no secret we are massive fans of the work they do as a charity and in the local community.”

This partnership went beyond just a financial commitment—it became a multi-faceted relationship that grew throughout the year. Here’s how APlus Medical supported Junction Arts:

  • Financial Support – Andy donated £350 from medical training courses.
  • Discounted Services – APlus provided a 50% discount on first aid training for the Junction Arts team.
  • Advocacy – Andy actively promoted Junction Arts online.
  • Volunteering – APlus offered their paramedic and responders service for free at the 30th Bolsover Lantern Parade.

Even after the year ended, the relationship continued. Today, APlus remains Junction Arts’ preferred first aid provider for staff training and event support. They also contribute a chocolate hamper each year for Junction Arts’ annual raffle.

What began as a one-year commitment has now grown into an ongoing partnership—proving that supporting a charity can be more than just a short-term initiative.
