Join Our Youth Board

Are you passionate about the arts and making a difference in your community? We’re looking for young people to join our Youth Board and help shape the future of our organisation.

Who Can Apply?

To be eligible, you must:

• Be aged 14–25
• Be able to attend in-person meetings in Chesterfield
• Have a passion for the arts and your local community

What You’ll Gain

As a Youth Board member, you’ll have the opportunity to:

• Work directly with artists and the creative sector
• Share your ideas and influence the work we do
• Plan and manage your own community arts project
• Develop valuable skills and grow in confidence
• Strengthen your CV and future opportunities

Key Dates

• Application deadline: Friday 7th August, 6pm
• Youth Board Training Day: Thursday 20th August, 10am–4pm
  • Location: 37 Station Road, S41 7BF

This training day is an important opportunity to:

• Meet other Youth Board members
• Learn about our organisation and our work
• Create a shared group code
• Understand roles and responsibilities
• Build skills for your journey on the Youth Board

If you’re unable to attend due to prior commitments (such as holidays or appointments), you are still encouraged to apply.

What Happens Next?

After the training day, you’ll take part in:

• Weekly online masterclasses throughout September
• Monthly in-person meetings starting in October

About the Youth Board

Our Youth Board places young people at the heart of everything we do. You’ll play an active role in decision-making, advising on projects, and shaping our programmes and activities.

Your Role

As a member, you will contribute to:

Strategic Guidance
Help ensure our work reflects the real needs and experiences of young people.

Shared Leadership
Collaborate directly with staff and trustees to influence decisions.

Advocacy & Campaigns
Plan events, lead community consultations, and deliver creative projects.

Hiring & Training
Take part in recruitment panels and access training to develop your leadership skills.

Above all, this is your board. You’ll help decide how these roles evolve and what the group achieves.
