We are so excited to introduce you to our first London Marathon Runner, Glen Roberts-Holland!
Glen, aged 30, lives in Palterton with his wife Rachel. He is a Management Accountant for East Midlands Railway and like so many of us, has been working from home for the last year. Whilst looking for a challenge this year, running for Junction Arts looked to be the perfect opportunity to make a difference for his community and get out of the house!

Glen admits himself that he’s a causal runner, only getting into running in 2013 after losing a bet that saw him run the Sheffield 10K in 2014. But since he’s been hooked. This is the biggest challenge he has taken on so far. When asked how he is feeling about the marathon, Glen quickly responded; “Terrified. The furthest I have ever run is 12 miles and this is double that plus a bit more. But I will be ready on the day.”
Glen has become a regular visitor to the Bolsover Lantern Parade. It was their first introduction to the community when they moved in 2017. It quickly became a family tradition, with their family chat being named Lantern Parade in its honour! “Community events like this, are what makes it so great to live here.”
