The deadline for The Chesterfield Postcard Show is approaching fast, but you can still be part of this year’s exhibition with two exciting events!
On Friday the 14th of April we are hosting a FREE craft event at Vicar Lane Shopping Centre from 10 am – 2 pm. The pop-up art activity will take place in the unit next to the Vintage Tearooms, with people of all ages invited to get creative and perhaps create their mini masterpieces for the postcard show! Suitable for all abilities, just come along and have a go!
The Chesterfield Postcard Show opens on the 9th of May at West Studios and to celebrate we are hosting a special print workshop on Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th of May. So, as well as enjoying the artwork on display, you can make your own! There will be teas and coffees served, with all profits donated to Junction Arts.
The Chesterfield Postcard Show is organised by Junction Arts and local artist Dave Elsom, to allow creatives, communities, and up-and-coming artists to show their work in a professional exhibition.
This year’s show is entitled ‘Wish You Were Here’ and celebrates the importance of getting creative and its impact on people’s self-esteem and well-being.
Hannah Bowdler, Fundraising Coordinator at Junction Arts said: “We’ve had a great response so far, with entries from professional artists in the UK and further afield as well as from members of our local community. I love receiving these mini works of art, every single entry makes you smile, and I can’t wait to see them all on display.
“We hope that our free pop-up event during the Easter holidays and the opening weekend print workshop will be lots of fun and inspire more people to get creative.”
