After having missed a year due to the Covid 19 pandemic it was wonderful to welcome visitors to a very special Tapton Lock Festival and it was back better than ever. The weather was fine, the programme was full and visitors flooded in, enjoying everything on offer and the opportunity to spend time with family and friends. There was so much going on and hard to pick the highlights but it’s worth mentioning the Our Place: Derby City of Making performance of Indian and Ukrainian music and dance, the imagination inducing story tellers from Adverse Camber and the kooky Bee Cart, educating us all about the importance of bees and pollination. The artist led workshops were as engaging as ever and for the more adventurous, the climbing wall and canoes were a hit.

What a great day for the whole family. The children have had an amazing experience. Thank you for all involved.’

‘An amazing festival full of lovely people and plenty of fun stalls to interact with. Thank you for organising this fun weekend.’

It was so rewarding for the team to be at the heart of this event and delivering the Festival is a huge undertaking so we would like to take this opportunity to thank all our performers and stall holders, artists, volunteers, our amazing sponsors and funders and last but not least our partners, the Derbyshire County Council Countryside Service without whom the festival wouldn’t happen.

2022 will be the 10th anniversary so no pressure!
