We kicked off the school holidays with an awe-inspiring week of arts, history, tech and science at our This Girl Codes Curiosity Academy hosted by Creswell Crags. During the week, participants of all ages explored three caves at Creswell Crags that inspired creative writing, perfume making, game design and audio workshops. Lead Artist Cora Glasser challenged everyone to be creative with technology and electronics enabling participants to make artwork speak via sensors and plants to talk when touched. The Curiosity Academy was made extra-special through a trip to Bletchley Park and exciting guest speakers; poet Tyler Turner, artist and perfumer Michael Borkowsky, electrical engineer and director of Kakou Ann Fomukong-Boden, game maker Ash Green and Curator of the Caves Angharad Jones. We’d like to take this opportunity to thank Cora and all our facilitators, volunteers, participants and especially Creswell Crags who made such an amazing week possible.

Artwork created from this year’s workshops and events will be curated into an interactive showcase exhibition at Creswell Crags in September. Dates will be announced soon!
