This Girl Codes is a program of activities led by artists that explores science, technology, engineering, and maths (STEM) through creativity.

HARDWICK HALL – TUESDAY 29 OCTOBER

POWER ROOTS AND ROUTES

During this workshop day led by artists and STEAM specialists we’ll explore power socially and electronically! We’ll link how the natural world helps create power, experimenting with vegetables, electricity and architecture.

Arrival at Hardwick Hall Visitor Centre: 10:00

Architecture and Service quarters tour at Hardwick Hall : 10:15

Morning workshop: 11:15

Lunch: 12:30

Afternoon workshop: 1pm

End: 3pm

PLEASLEY PIT – THURSDAY 31 OCTOBER

CODED CARNIVAL

Learn how to programme a microbit to become a robot car before giving it a mining heritage twist by turning them into a miniature gala float that can parade with pride.

Arrival at Pleasley Pit Visitor Centre: 10:00

Heritage site tour: 10:15

Morning workshop: 11:15

Lunch: 12:30

Afternoon workshop: 1pm

End: 3pm

We are requesting a small booking fee of £4 per person adults and children 8 years and older to guarantee your space on the day. Please contact Junction Arts on jemma@junctionarts.org if fees are an issue, we will be discreet and can offer subsidised charges.
